Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (Rigin®) is derived from the GQPR sequence of the Fc fragment of IgG immunoglobulin. It suppresses IL-6 secretion by keratinocytes and fibroblasts, the primary pro-inflammatory cytokine driving 'inflammaging' and MMP-mediated collagen degradation. Most commonly formulated with Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 as the widely used Matrixyl 3000® complex, where it plays the anti-inflammatory protective role.

Main characteristics

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 helps reduce the low-grade inflammation associated with skin aging, protecting the extracellular matrix (ECM) from degradation. By reducing IL-6, it slows the MMP cascade that destroys collagen and elastin. In Matrixyl 3000, it pairs with Pal-Tripeptide-1 (which builds new collagen) for a protect dual strategy. Stable at pH 4.5–7.5. Produced via SPPS to ≥95% purity (HPLC + MS).
